It is a strange time to the comic and superhero film genre. With last year's superhero movies such as The Dark Knight, Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, audiences were treated to feature films that took the core components of the superheroes that have filled comics for many years and turned them into successful movie properties. The genre all together has reached something associated with an impasse now, mostly into The Dark Knight, but in addition as a result of the 2010 WATCHMEN adaptation. Audiences aren't just there for effects, and the studios happen to be taking note. The comic strip films we are now seeing released are usually the most serious, most respectful and quite a few powerful the genre has ever produced.

When Batman branched off into his own titular series (though he still appeared in Detective Comics while he does to today) he was shown killing two giants with a gun inside the first issue. Editor Whitney Ellsworth eliminate this aspect of the original Batman character forever by decreeing he could no more kill or make use of a gun. The first Batman comics featured a cool, calculating detective, but future stories would show his heart and mind more profoundly for this reason decision.
